Floppy disks, shareware, and the high-score chase. Before download counters there was the 5¼-inch floppy passed hand to hand — try it, love it, send in the registered copy.

Same Game is a 1992 classic: a grid of color blocks, clear out every group of two or more, and the bigger the group the bigger the score. Clearing the whole board is the dream. No joystick, no buttons — just the mouse, or your thumb on a phone. It shares the shelf with two more Windows classics: JezzBall, where you throw walls to trap the bouncing balls, and Chip's Challenge, where you collect every chip, dodge the patrols, and find the exit.
